TOP TIPS FOR RETURNING TO GOLF ON APRIL 26TH
ELECTRIC TROLLYS AND BATTERIES
Your batteries and trolleys have more than likely been asleep for the past few months, In order to get the most out of your trolley and battery pop it onto charge and leave over night.
Clean your trolley wheels and handles.
Any dirt and grit can cause problems if it gathers near the motor.
A dry clean cloth should be used to clean any dirt from the motor area.
Many PGA Professionals offer a Trolley Repair Service. You may need a new battery or a trolley service to get the most out of trolley so consult your pro before you purchase.
YOUR GOLF SHOES
Over time your golf shoes can become hard and because of being in a house they can experience different temperatures.
As a result you may find your shoes have cracked when you go to put them on.
Your PGA Professional ahs no doubt been working hard stocking their shop with 2021 Season Golf Shoes so pop into them to see what they have, Again shoes can be a very personal choice but your PGA Pro can advise you on what shoes are the best for your needs.
Just like shoes, your grips can dry out over time regardless of whether they are in your locker or your shed. Pull the clubs out of hibernation and give them a little inspection.
If your grips have dried out or have become ‘shinny’, pop into your PGA Pro for some advice on changing your grips and what grip is best for you.
The variety of grips on the market right now is huge from standard size grips to jumbo to special need grips such as arthritic grips. Your Pro will advise you on what is the best fit.
So that is one less excuse for a way ward shot on April 26th.
Remember we have all been golf deprived for a few months now, even if you have been hitting a few balls down the beach or in the garden your body may be in for a shock when you play your first round.
Some warm up exercises can be useful until you get back into the swing of things. Exercises such as: Hip rotation, Shoulder rotation and back stretching can real make a difference.
Remember you use up to 19 muscle groups in one golf swing....so limber up!!!!
Keep an eye on my Instagram and Website for some guest appearances from the boys from Specific Fitness who are going to share their knowledge regarding warm up practises for golf.
YOUR GOLF BAG
We are all guilty of the odd banana down the bottom of the golf bag, but if the last time you looked in your golf bag was December you may be in for a shock.
So be sure to go through your golf bag over the next few days and air it out.
Gloves and towels again become dry and ragged if not aired enough so pop into your PGA Pro and check out what they have on offer in the way of gloves and towel for 2021.
It is also worth noting your fantastic golf course may have been used by the public during the lockdown as an open walking space and although you may have notified your local community via community Facebook pages, that your club is no longer open to the public, some members of the community may be found walking on the course. A polite approach is always best in the case.
GOOD LUCK FOR APRIL 26TH GOLFERS.
